Police are now involved in the viral Tiktok incident where a Black woman alleged a white man pulled her wig off on the streets of New York City.

According to TMZ, TikToker and local musician Lizzy Ashliegh filed an official complaint with the New York Police Department on Sunday (May 28), the same day she posted a video about the alleged incident.

Ashliegh is accusing the man who ripped off her wig, who has been identified as lawyer Anthony Orlich, of misdemeanor assault, a police source told TMZ. In her complaint, Ashliegh said she suffered a minor injury to her neck as a result of the incident.

The musician initially posted a TikTok video showing the aftermath of the alleged incident. While holding her blue-green wig, Ashliegh repeatedly asked the man why he snatched it off her head. While other individuals in the video appeared to be apologetic over the incident, the man seemingly shrugged off the situation and walked away.

The video sparked outrage among millions of viewers, who quickly identified the man as Orlich. On Tuesday (May 30), Leader Berkon Colao & Silverstein law firm issued a statement saying Orlich was no longer employed with the company.

Orlich has yet to publicly comment on the allegations.
