Exes Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were seated side by side at the Copa América final in Miami, Florida on Sunday (July 14) just over a year after they attempted to rekindle their relationship. According to Page Six, the former pair were seen smiling and chatting together during the entirety of the game.

Video footage captured by a fan attending the event depicts the on-again, off-again exes carrying on a conversation in the stands, seemingly picking up where they left off last year. Social media users immediately speculated about the performers' romantic intentions. Is this the start of another summer of love, or are they strictly friends nowadays?

Cabello and Mendes dated for three years from 2019 to 2021. They announced their split in a joint social media post, assuring that while their romantic love had come to an end, their "love for one another as humans" was "stronger than ever."

The once beloved music industry match decided to stay "best friends" until April 2023 when they were seen kissing at Coachella and cuddling at a Taylor Swift Eras Tour show the following month. Speculation of a possible rekindled romance spread like wildfire, until the pair publicly admitted that locking lips was a spontaneous moment and they had no intention of dating again, per OK! Magazine.

In a March 2024 podcast episode of Call Her Daddy on iHeartRadio, the "Havana" songstress revealed that she falls in love fast but believes a "slow burn" is the healthiest way to go about cultivating a relationship.

Cabello and Mendes have yet to reveal if they attended the Copa América final as exes-turned-friends, or rekindled lovers.
